Built on a 43-Year Training Legacy

The Nuclear Decommissioning Academy was founded to continue and expand the training program that Larry Boing developed and refined over four decades at Argonne National Laboratory. The Argonne Facility Decommissioning Training Course graduated more than 2,900 professionals from 69 countries — establishing it as the gold standard for nuclear decommissioning education worldwide.

NDA's course carries that legacy forward with updated curriculum reflecting current NRC regulations, emerging decommissioning technologies, and the latest industry experience from active U.S. and international projects. The same rigor. The same instructors. A curriculum built for today's decommissioning environment.

Our Mission

Preparing the Next Generation of Decommissioning Professionals

Nuclear decommissioning is one of the most technically complex and regulatory-intensive disciplines in the nuclear industry. It demands expertise across project management, radiation protection, waste management, environmental remediation, and regulatory compliance — often simultaneously.

NDA exists to give nuclear professionals the comprehensive, practical knowledge they need to plan, execute, and oversee decommissioning projects with confidence. Our course is built for practitioners — people who will use this knowledge on real projects, not just pass an exam.
